Dance Classes
Our classes are open to everyone, no matter the age, shape, or size. We are also more than happy to adapt our teaching styles towards those whose personal preferences< or medical conditions require them to receive specialised attention.
Private Lessons
Focussed 1-on-1 lessons that will be custom-built to fit your individual goals and allow you to practise in complete comfort. City studios can be accessed for these lessons upon request.
Group Bookings
Standard lessons are open to all skill levels. Students will learn alongside each other, while also each receiving periods of 1-on-1 teaching from the instructors to ensure that they are making the most of their lesson time and receiving the tuition methods that best suits them.
Coaching for Competitive Dancing
Coaching for individuals or couples who are interested in entering recreational or registered graded dancesport events and competitions. Private lessons are recommended for those wishing to enter any competitions. Recreational events are aimed at encouraging beginner dancers or couples who may be interested in eventually pursuing competitive dancesport.
About Our Teachers
Janita and Barry Clark have practised Ballroom, Latin, New Vogue, and Rock'n'Roll dance for over 27 years.
After winning local competitions and ranking in the top 6 at the National level, they decided to give back to the Christchurch dance community
by taking their expertise and passion for dance and directing it towards teaching.
Janita received her Associate Degree in Ballroom Dance and New Vogue Dance through the NZ Federation of Dance Teachers.
She is also currently studying for her Associate Degree in Latin Dance.
Both Janita and Barry are qualified scrutineers in the Skating System of Adjudication through the British Dance Council,
and Janita adjudicates regularly at local competitions.
With JBC, Janita and Barry now take immense pride in imparting their same excitement, knowledge, and skills to others,
with the hope that sharing their love for dance shall encourage the Christchurch and New Zealand dance communities to continue flourishing.
